The news was confirmed by publicist Simon Jones, who described Williams as "an incredibly loved, warm-hearted, and amazing person." Williams, who rose to fame as the winner of the inaugural season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2019, captivated audiences with talent, humor, and authenticity.

The Vivienne's career spanned musical theatre, television, and live performances. In addition to winning Drag Race UK, the performer also competed in the U.S. all-winners season of the franchise in 2022 and starred in the BBC Three series The Vivienne Takes On Hollywood in 2020.

In 2023, The Vivienne showcased versatility as a contestant on Dancing On Ice, where they finished in third place. They also received critical acclaim for their portrayal of the Wicked Witch of the West in a touring production of The Wizard of Oz, reprising the role in London’s West End.
